Five Factor Capital Advisors is a fee only, fully transparent, independent financial planning and investment advisory firm located in Scarsdale, New York.
Our mission is to help clients decide what is most important to them, and then create a plan to help them achieve it – whether it entails educating their children or grandchildren, retirement without running out of money, starting a new business or nonprofit, caring for aging parents, supporting charitable causes, traveling or some other meaningful goal.
As a registered investment advisor, we have a legal fiduciary responsibility to provide investment advice that serves our clients' interests before our own. As a result, our firm's incentives align seamlessly with our clients' goals. When our clients succeed, we succeed.
We look at the big picture concerning our client's finances with the intent of improving their investment confidence and enhancing their piece of mind.
We help them discover their financial goals and provide them with analysis regarding their overall financial position. We develop a realistic plan to help them reach their goals and implement the plan using low cost, tax efficient portfolios, based on the principles of Modern Portfolio Theory. Then we monitor and adapt their plan as their circumstances change over time.
What we do not do:
We do not sell any products. We do not receive any form of compensation from anyone other than our clients.
We believe that a disciplined investment approach based on the tenants of Modern Portfolio Theory, that overlays our client's financial goals with decades of academic research is superior to one based on instinct and prophesy.
Overtime, a new approach to investing has emerged, not at Wall Street firms, but instead, in the halls of academia. This approach is grounded in the science of capital markets, rather than gut-feel speculation or attempts to predict the future. It uses science to understand the drivers of investment returns, which produces a high degree of reliability and confidence, while simplifying the investment process for our clients.
By comparison, as unusual as it seems, the majority of investment advice today is based on the notion that someone has a crystal ball – we can assure you, they don't.
This is the investment philosophy we teach and believe in. For those who do not end up sharing this philosophy, we suggest that Five Factor Capital Advisors is probably not going to be the right fit for them.
